2nd Playoff Game for the Ravens

VS.

GO RAVENS!!!

Tomorrow the Baltimore Ravens play the Tennessee Titans in Tennessee..The game will have to be recorded for us to watch on Sunday morning..So PLEASE don't tell us the outcome of the game..This summer I will have to get me a new Jersey or Tee shirt with Joe Flacco on it..

Joe Flacco...For being a rookie quarterback who was "shoved" in to the position of QB, he sure is doing a might fine job..and Give credit to the new Head Coach, John Harbaugh and to a new Offensive Coordinator, Cam Cameron..All the staff for the Baltimore Ravens are doing a fine job..But there is one concern after the post season ends..Will the Ravens resign some of our key players who will be free agents? One of the main free agents will be Ray Lewis..An awesome linebacker..A powerful hitter..The leader of our team, especially DEFENSE..I sure do hope that the Baltimore Ravens management do the right thing cause the one thing we dont' want is our greatest leader becoming some one else's greatest leader..

C'mon Ravens....Kick some butt and move on to another Post Season game for next weekend...

Another Day at Miami Everglades

Today is Jan. 9, Friday..It is evening time and I am sitting at my computer relaxing waiting to go to bed...Right now it is 9pm and I am watching CSI:Miami on A&E..It's just too early to hit the sack..
Richard has had a rough day today..He wasn't feeling too well last night and this morning when he got up, he really wasn't feeling well..I had tried to sleep out on the couch cause I knew he wouldn't be able to sleep well and I didn't want to not get any sleep either..He was feeling tired today..We are not sure how he got sick but I will be trying desperately not to get sick..Lots of germ juice (Purell Hand Sanitizer)..
We went in to work at 11:30am and did very little..Not much to do..I swept the clubhouse floor, made sure the bathroom was clean, then worked on the 2 computers that in the outside part of the clubhouse..Yesterday I downloaded AVG antivirus program since the 2 computers did not have any kind of antivirus program on them..People from all over, from Canada to Michigan, use the computers..Yesterday both computers had many threats, viruses and other stuff on them..Then today I did Disk Cleanup and Defrag on both of them..It took a while on both of them but some of the guests have said that the computers are faster now..Don't know what they will do when we leave but as for now, I will keep up with the computers as long as we are here..
Tonight there was a Texas Hold 'em game in the clubhouse..Thirteen people signed up and thirteen people showed..The guests mainly run their own shows unless it's a campground function..We got to leave to head home about 7:30pm instead of 8pm..Tomorrow is a Deck Reception..All I know is that there is 2 hot dishes served like bbq hotdogs cut in to pieces and I don't know what else..There is cut up celery, carrots, little cheese bites..Pretty much everything is in bites..There is going to be beer, wine, and sodas..
Our schedule for next week hours are 1:30pm - 10pm..which is fine with us...Working mid day hours like 11:30am - 8pm just ruins the whole day..
Tonight some guests gathered on the deck and shared some wine and little appetizers..I guess they do this quite often..It nice to see people who come to this campground gather around and have fun...
I hope that everyone has a nice weekend..Our new week begins tomorrow and I am looking forward to 2 days off next week..I don't know if we will do anything but if we don't, then that is fine with me..

First Day at Work - Miami Everglades Campground

Today was our first day at our work for Miami Everglades Campground (MEC)...
Yesterday we met with the managers, Chuck & Nancy, to get our red MEC shirts and our name tags...We were handed the schedule for the week and what was going on for the week...Then we met Bob & Penny who were in the clubhouse...They showed us the kitchen area and the pantry area...The clubhouse has 3 ovens which are also convection ovens...2 refridgerators...2 sinks...2 large grills that are brand new...Last night was Bingo night and Bob was calling it 'cause we were off...
We met with the Activities Director, John, who showed us how the Complimentary Coffee goes for all the guests...Every morning, all the guests at MEC gets an 8 oz. cup of coffee and they gather around on the deck on the chairs that are on the deck and chat the morning away...It is pretty cool that the guests like this and come out for this event...Sometimes the managers will supply bagels and cream cheese for them too...This event is scheduled from 8am - 10am...The clean up was a breeze too...
The rest of the day went a bit slowly...There isn't much more that goes on unless there are big events like the Deck Reception that is this weekend...Or Wine Tasting with Bruce...Or a 60th Wedding Anniversary dinner...and the Holiday parties...I did some sweeping and Richard started cleaning the white deck tables 'cause they are very dirty...What will happen tomorrow is anyone's guess...so I do take in a crossword puzzle to work on...But we are allowed to grab a golf cart if it is available and go out for a ride and talk to the guests...We are encouraged to go to the "hosted" games like volleyball, bean bag toss, water aerobics, etc. and talk to the guests...Tomorrow I will try to take my camera to take pictures of what is going on...
As for the first day on our job of 3 months, I think it went well...

Our Day Travel to Miami Everglades Campground

On Jan. 2, 2009, Richard and I started our travel down to our next job with Legacy Resorts...We left our resort park at Deer Creek about 10:13am and headed south on US Rte. 27...It took us a while to get past all the towns with all of these red lights...I think it took us almost 2 hours to go 50 miles...If it was going to be like this the rest of the way, then we were in for a long day of driving...But after 2 hours, we were on our way...
We saw many things along the route...We saw many orange groves...then we saw lots of reed like things that we came to realize was sugar cane...Wow! It was pretty awesome to see...The fields were being burned to make it ready for the next planting for the sugar cane...There were many trucks with open fenced in backs that had full loads of sugar canes in the back of them...
On US Rte. 27, there are no rest stops...There are no rest rooms...and definitely no place to pull in to in order to go potty...We had to pull over at a long turn lane in a town so we could take a potty break..Then on the road again...As we got closer to the area of the campground, there were many nurseries...We have never seen so many nurseries in an area...The other thing we saw were workers in the field...What an eye opener...I know it's a job but it's tough to realize that the field workers don't make that much and that they probably share a "home" to make what they make...
The arrival to Miami Everglades Campground came about 3:13pm....Exactly 5 hours later...We pulled up to the main entrance and walked in to the registration office...There we saw a friendly face, Barbara...Barbara came from Lake Ridge Rv Resort in Hillsville, VA this past summer (2008)...One of the managers was in the office too, Nancy...We introduced ourselves and got our new "home" for the next 3 months...We were put on site 216...It's a pretty good site...We are close to 2 wifi antennas so Richard and I can stay on the internet with hopefully no problems...The area is all grass which is a good switch from sand...We do understand that there are ants under the grass...There is a concrete pad which is nice...Richard decorated up the yard with what he could cause beneath the 4 inches of soil is coral...Yep, coral...Couldn't believe it...Richard kept pounding and pounding to get our flag holders in the ground...to get our holders in the ground that holds our string lights...The awning is out along with a sunscreen panel on the front of the awning and one on the side...Our swing is next to the deck...The Ravens flags are clipped to the flap of the awning...But we could not believe about the coral in the ground...Our rv is all set up until Mar. 27...
That night after setting up, we drove to get a bite to eat...We went to a place of Redland Ribs but it looked scary...So we went on driving...We drove to US Rte. 1 and started looking for Applebees...Next to US Rte. 1 is another road called a Busway...It's the commuter bus lane...That was really something to see...We drove up US Rte. 1 for a while and then we came across Applebees...Next to Applebees is a mall...Southland Mall...We went in and had dinner and drove back home...What a day!

Happy New Year 2009

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone who reads my blog...I'm a few days behind but that's how it goes..and a new saying is "It is what it is". Haven't been on the computer much but I thought tonight I would do a few things to up do my blog...

New Year Eve night, Richard and I couldn't stay up late because we had to get up for work, for Disney, at 5:10 am...Usually we are at Sunset King with our "other" family celebrating the New Year but this year we couldn't make it...But we did go out with our other friends, Bob and Glenda, and their family members, Carl and Ruthie...We went out for lunch on 12.21.08 to Golden Corral for a mid lunch/dinner...We then decided to take a few trips to some resorts on Disney property to see how the resorts were decorated...Richard and I wanted to be back to our rv by 6pm but that didn't happen..but that was fine...We had a blast with our friends...When we got back to Bob and Glenda's rv to pick up our truck, we went in to Glenda's rv and she opened up a bottle of apple cider and we all celebrated with a small toast, which was great...At least we got to toast to good friends and safe rv'ing...Richard and I went home.

AFC Wild Card Playoff Game 1-4-09

It is the AFC Wild Card Playoff game against the Miami Dolphins down at the Miami Dolphin Stadium today, January 4, 2009, at 1pm.

Today Richard and I wore our #52, Ray Lewis, jerseys on a bike ride around the campground to show off our colors. Behind our site is a family of Dolphin fans. We had to ride past them to show that we are Ravens fans. Game time came and we were plastered to our tv screen, surround sound on. The Ravens did pretty good with Ed Reed collecting several interceptions. Joe Flacco went in for a touchdown. Fabian Washington collected an interception. For a while there, we thought that Miami might catch up to us on points. But on the sidelines was a deflated Chad Pennington. Ray Lewis, Jim Leonhard, Terrell Suggs and many others on the defense did very well to keep the Dolphins at bay.

Now the Ravens are on their way to Tennessee to play the Titans. Luckily we are on a roll and we will beat the Titans. We have beat them in previous games and hopefully will do so next Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at 4:30pm.
Coach Harbaugh and Offensive Coordinator, Cam Cameron, are celebrating their win over the Miami Dolphins. It looks lke Cam Cameron got the dunk of the Gatorade more than the Coach.

GO RAVENS!!!
