The week turned out so well with the visit from my brother, Phil (Nick to family) and his partner in life, my brother-n-law, Michael…However, towards the end of the week, Michael had to go home and couldn’t join us in the luau at Seaworld…On Friday, Nick called to see what our plans were for Saturday the 22nd and if we could still find out if there are any available seatings for the Polynesian Luau…We made calls and came up with seatings at the Seaworld’s Makahiki Luau…The most unexpected part of this luau business was that Nick wanted to treat us to the luau…It didn’t matter to Richard and I just as long as we could spend time with him..So off to Seaworld we went about 3pm…

There is nothing like arriving at Seaworld and heading to the Dolphin Nursery…It is always neat to see mamas and babies swimming around and playing…This day there were a couple of babies swimming around in the nursery pool…

After getting some photos of the mamas and babies, we walked in to a shop just to browse since we had some time before the 5:30pm check in for the luau…There were some awesome glass figurines that I would love to have some of them…So since we can’t buy any and put them anywhere in the rv, the best thing to do is to take photos…Shamu the whale was awesome…A sea ray was beautiful…A blue crab reminded me of the Chesapeake Bay crabs…

I really loved this squid or octopus…The color blue was spectacular…but the price was not spectacular…If only!!!!

After walking through the shop and seeing all kinds of tees, flipflops, bags, sunglasses, souveniors of all sorts, candy and kids stuff, we headed back to the Seafire Inn where it was a bit warmer inside…About 5:25pm, we went outside to wait the few minutes to head down the walkway to the Luau…

At the end of the pathway were 2 members of the luau who gave out the leis…Then you walk a little bit farther, and another member takes your photo…After the photo, you head indoors to get a free drink, a beer or a hawaiian drink of rum/punch for adults or lemonade or you can buy a drink once inside the hall…Once led in the doors to the luau room, a member takes you to your table and seats you…On the table are well designed plates of food with glasses and drinks…The first food served is the salad, a roll and grapes..Sticky rolls are in a basket just waiting for you to grab one and wish you had a wet one…lol…

While beginning your plate of salad and grapes, hawaiian singers come out on stage and start singing songs…They sing for a little bit and then the Kahuna and his wife comes out and talks about their culture…Dinner is served of pulled pork, fish in coco lopez, chicken and fried rice…Sodas and teas were free along with the dessert and coffee…Once eating, the dancing begins…During the entertainment there was even a fire dancer…The whole evening was really cool and fun…but the best part of the night was just being with my brother and hubby…

Thanks Nick for a grand evening…Someday we hope to return the favor…Just time together is enough for me…  :-)

This is the living room in their Orange Lake complex…It’s a very roomy apartment sized timeshare…It has a little screened-in porch to help keep the bugs from attacking you…The kitchen is big enough to work in plus it has a dishwasher…whoo hooo!!  There is plenty of seating at the dining table plus 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms…Plus the room comes with a washer and dryer to do your clothes…visiting at orange lake
Say Cheese!  Uncle Nick and Uncle Michael with their niece, Brianna having a little bit of fun…the uncles and niece No mommy, we didn’t stop at the bar…I just needed to rest my legs…lol
us visiting nickSee, Poppy and Mommom were with me…lol
Nick and Michael showed us around Orange Lake resort where they were staying for the week…The weather was nasty to go in to one of the parks so we all decided to take a walk around and see what Orange Lake was all about…First stop, a drink…Richard and I got treated to a drink…I got a strawberry dacquiri and Richard got a coke…Nick got some sort of drink and I just don’t remember what Michael got…The rain was iffy…drizzly here and there…but seeing the HUGE Orange Lake complex was something else…Brianna actually ran in to a pirate on our walk..along with getting a wet butt going down the slide in one of the playgrounds…She wasn’t too happy about having a wet butt…lol
bri with a pirate
Nobody were in the pools or in the lazy river…That’s how nasty of a day it was…There are cabanas here at the lazy river…Plus there are shops, a restaurant or 2, rental shops and a mini golf course…None of that was done today…We just had some fun looking around and seeing what Orange Lake had to offer…No wonder Nick and Michael come down here for a week…
