The past few days have been wonderful…The weather has been perfect, up in the upper 50’s and 60’s…The sun has been shining with hardly any breeze…Breakfast has been eaten and it is time to go have some fun…
Brianna has been wanting to go play miniature golf down by the clubhouse…It is a 9 hole miniature golf course and Brianna has fun just hitting the ball around…Once in a while she is lucky to get a hole in 2 but not very often…This is Hole #1…There are many times when she picks up her ball and carries it around to the other side near the hole… It is fun to go around the 9 holes and see just how she puts her ball through the tunnels and how she swings her club…I’ve tried to show her many times how to hold her club but I guess she has her own style…Here is the sweeping style…She has the push style too…
During our playing time and after we hit our ball when it is our turn, Brianna will take over for each of us…On each golf course we put our golf ball down to hit it towards the hole and once we hit our own ball Brianna will pick it up and put it near the hole so she can put it in and yells “Yeah”…Now sometimes she will miss the hole and keep “sweeping” the ball so she gets her “hole in one”…It is so funny to watch but fun to watch too…We enjoy playing mini golf with her cause there isn’t much we have to do…*laugh* Here on the 9th hole, Poppy moved his ball around to the hole and guess who put it in the hole for him, YEP! It was Brianna…
This is Hole #2 and you can see the follow through isn’t looking all that bad…Could some pros learn from Brianna???? LOL I think I could…LOL
There is another kid who visits (resides) at Sunset King…His name is Austin and he is 9 years old…Austin was at Sunset King in Oct. 2007 – Mar. 2008 when we had Brianna for those 4 months and he played with her then…But now they are 2 years older and play a little better, or should I say he plays a little better with her…But they only have each other to keep company within a park full of adults…Austin and Brianna wanted to play mini golf so I went with them to keep an eye on both of them…Austin kind of takes off as he was going through the mini golf course and forgot to wait for her on each course…She would get so mad at him and tell him “she wasn’t going to be his best friend if he didn’t wait up for her”…I would have to tell him to wait for her cause they were suppose to be playing together…They had their moments but I think they both had fun…
Austin gave Brianna a ride on his skateboard down to the mini golf course…Brianna thought this was a cool way to travel and told me that she would see down at the mini golf…Austin was real careful and I told her to make sure she kept her feet up so she wouldn’t get hurt…
Can you tell what kind of fun these 2 were having under the nose of our rv? Yep, digging a big hole so they could build sandcastles and walls and turrets…Brianna had a bucket with shovel from a restaurant down on Okaloosa Island and I gave them a couple of plastic spoons and 3 oz. plastic cups…Later on I gave them some straws to use as flags flying from the turrets…I did hear from my neighbor that Austin did pick Brianna up and tried to place her in the hole to see how far down the hole she would fit…Brianna was having a blast…When they were all done, all the sand was put back in the hole that they dug from…
One of the other fun things we did was go to the little playground that is between the clubhouse and the lake but is also fenced…It’s not much of a playground but it is enough for little ones to play around…It is like a wooden jungle gym..There is one slide and a small bridge to cross over from one side to the other and a fireman’s pole…There is a ramp to walk up to the bridge and slide area…As you can see, Brianna likes to slide down head first, feet first and on her side…She wanted to slide down on back but she never made it that far…Brianna couldn’t make up her mind to slide or to swing…
It has some swings for about 6 little ones to swing from…and they are low enough to the ground for the little ones to try and push themselves in to swinging…But on this day, Brianna was trying to learn how to swing forward and back and using her legs to help her get some height in her swing but all she got was sand in her shoes…It don’t help that she wore open toe shoes with socks…LOL…Poppy was behind her swinging her and trying to teach her how to use her legs to keep on swinging…When she wanted to stop and start over, Poppy would grab her swing and pull her back as far as she would let him…Then he would let her go and oh my, what fun she had…
The joy on her face was priceless…
What a fantastic few days of sunny weather and warm temperatures for Austin and us to have fun…
The joy on her face was awesome to see…Brianna wanted Poppy and me to take turns swinging her…You can just see Kings Lake in the background…
This is part of the bridge that goes from the right side of the jungle gym to the left side where the sliding board is…
Another sliding picture of our Brianna…
Brianna relaxing on the corner bench on the playground gym trying to get all the sand out of her toeless shoes…
After playing, we went in to the clubhouse to get a soda and relax…Inside the clubhouse is a restaurant area which is also the game room area…Soda is what Bri wanted for being a good girl…So why not a good treat and it’s cheap…LOL
One of the other things Brianna likes to do while she is at Sunset King is to go down by the lake and look for fish…We walk along the pier and see if we can find any minnows or even a fish…We did see a gullinule in the lake…but not up close…Lots of lilly pads in different colors were in the lake…
Brianna decided to walk up several steps to one of the rental cabins during our walk back from the lake to the miniature golf course up by the clubhouse…I thought she was going to look in the door to see if anyone was home but instead she walked up the steps and then back down the steps…Only she knew why she did that…*smile*
