April 14 – It was a day to go have breakfast at Boma’s at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and then head off to Blizzard Beach to enjoy all the water fun that one can have in a day without trying to get burned from the sun…The temperature was going to be in the high 80’s-low 90’s…First stop is Boma’s in Animal Kingdom Lodge…
Boma’s is a buffet style dining place in the Animal Kingdom Lodge…It is very beautiful but dark except for the lighting…The buffet has all kinds of foods ranging from carved ham with exotic sauces to oatmeal to scrambled eggs that are plain or with chives and goat cheese to pancakes/waffles, fruits, breads, bacon/sausage and many different cereals…Boma also serves their African specialties which I am not inclined to try out..Brandi, Richard and I found the foods we liked and came back and ate our fill..Brianna had a cheese quesadilla for her breakfast…Everybody ate their delicious breakfast and off we went to look in the gift shop…Brandi found a really nice Disney one piece bathing suit and some things for Lizzi and Kayla to take back to them…Time to head to Blizzard Beach…
Coming through the gates of Blizzard Beach, Bri just had to tell the Cast Members that this was her first time here…They made a big deal of it and the Security guy actually went and got her a Disney Security sticker…Bri traded a few pins with another cast member and off we went…A special 1st memory for Bri and Brandi here at Blizzard Beach (BB, for future reference)…We grabbed a map to see where everything was at and decided to start looking for some chairs in the shade…Luckily enough we did find 3 chairs and a lounge chair under the cover of shade so we put all our stuff on all the chairs so no one else would take our seats…
Guess who Bri ran in to…Goofy at BB! Oh wow! Goofy was even wearing his swimsuit…Unfortunately I have no pics of us here cause it all involved water and my camera is not water proof…hahahaha! Richard grabbed his chair and sat down for the duration of the stay with his mp3 player…Bri, Bran and I walked to where the lazy river was and grabbed an intertube and started floating down the river…We did get off at one of the locations for water fun…We walked up many flights of steps to get to the top, carrying our inner tube for single rider and their double inner tube just to find out that I can not do down the OPEN flume…Only the double inner tube can go down the OPEN flume…I was not happy cause the single riders must go down the CLOSED flume…I almost walked down all those steps but I said I need to go down and just scream my head off…OMG!!! OMG!!! I got on my tube and started down the closed-in flume and was zooming down like butter being melted…I was riding the sides all the way down IN THE DARK…I was laughing so hard just to not be scared…Finally, I see light of day…I entered the big pool at the end of this neverending ride IN THE DARK…I didn’t do that again but Bri had FUN and wanted to do it again…We walked to another area of water fun…Bran and Bri walked up more steps and did some sort of toboggan ride…I just sat and waited…They had fun on that one too…The sun was hot, the water was cool and there were too many people at BB but we had fun…There was a tidal pool that we got in to and had lots of bouncing around in…The waves that did hit us were knocking Bri off of her feet…Finally, the last day of swimming, Bri decided she wanted to swim without her arm swimmies and go under water…The best part is that she could go under water and be able to stand back up without feeling unsafe…Brandi and I were so very proud of her…The sunburns were on and it was time to pack up and grab some dinner…
Wendy’s is where Brandi wanted to go…It wouldn’t have been my choice and she wasn’t treating but she was driving…So we go where the driver goes…Everybody got a bite to eat and then Brandi treated us to a small frostee…Our day ended well…
French fries and frostee anyone! Bri found it to be delicious…Not my cup of tea…hahahahahaha!!!
Richard had a strawberry shake with his meal…Good to the last drop!! Or he was trying to get out the last drop…hahahahaha!!
