If someone has never been to a creamery to see how ice cream is made, the place to go is Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham, TX…Our friends, Bill & Alice, and us went there for a day trip visit…The fee was very cheap, $3/person as a senior…
Before the next time of a tour, we decided to walk and view the pretty scenery that the creamery set up…The garden was very lovely with signs that told everyone about some special aspects of how the creamery got started…
This is a very old ice cream delivery truck which only carried a pint or quart of ice cream to their buyers…Very interesting…lol
The creamery waits until there are enough people to start the tour…A tour guide shows us the way towards our walk of the factory…
Our tour guide was very informative and the interesting facts about how the creamery works and what they get rid of it say for instance an ice cream sandwich that comes down the conveyer belt broken before it is put in the wrapper…The ice cream sandwiches go in to bucket and tossed out…It seems to be a shame to get rid of all that good ice cream…We got to see how the 1/2 gallon buckets get their wrappers put on along with the lids…We saw how popsicle sticks are put in the popsicles…Oh so very interesting…We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the workings of the creamery…At the end of our tour, everyone was able to receive a small bowl of their favorite ice cream…The ice cream freezers held at least 30 flavors…Of course, I got my Mint Chocolate Chip…Yummy!!!
This was yet another great day spent with our friends…It is always special when one has a great time and can spend the day with their friends…
